It is believed that the first American flag  bearing thirteen red and white stripes was a Union flag presented to the Philadelphia Light Horse by Captain Abraham Markoe, a Dane, probably early in 1775. A "Union flag" is mentioned as having been displayed at a gathering of Whigs at Savannah in June, 1775, probably thirteen stripes. MY LANGUAGE LEARNER IDENTITY

This is manpreet.I was born and grew up in india.I came in U.S.A.2  years ago.I had learned punjabi and hindi languages in my country.Punjabi is my mother tongue language.I am fluent in reading,writing and speaking skills of my native language.In india when i was studying in my school ,i had learned english language but not too much because english is our second language.That's my weakness that i can't speak english fluently.I knew how to read and write english but i need to learn reading and writing skills.I want to study spanish language because in usa mostly people speak english and spanish.I prefer to read novels because it improves our reading skills.I prefer to write in for e-mails.It develops our writing skills we become faster in wrting .I prefer to use english language to academic things in essay,lab reports,bussiness documents,office work because i am living in usa and in this country english is the first language but english is little hard for me than my native  language because sometimes i am confused in using tenses.
